Rethink Retirement – Health

by | Health & Wellbeing, Kitchen Conversations

This week I want to talk with you about health. Too many of us take our health for granted.

I’m not perfect. I may have lost 10 stone but put some of the weight back on and it is hard to lose it again. For now I am focusing on keeping my weight steady.

In the above video I say that I have stopped aiming for 10,000 steps a day, and instead I am focusing on a 30 minute power walk each day (where I walk briskly). I do this most days, unless I am doing weights training at the gym. But if you cannot manage that then 3 lots of 10 minutes a day can be helpful.

Alongside walking, as we age we also need to focus on strength training – using weights to enhance bone density.

Don’t forget about dancing to slow the ageing process. You can read a great article here.

I’d love to know what you are doing. Feel free to leave a comment below.
