Post-Retirement Opportunities – Avonmouth Fair

Aged 55+ and approaching retirement, recently retired, or facing redundancy?
This FREE event, run by LinkAge Network as part of the Post-Retirement Opportunities project, will showcase the wide range of opportunities and advice available within the areas of money, work, volunteering, learning, leisure and health & wellbeing. Representatives from a range of organisations will be on hand at the event to provide information and advice.
A guest speaker and workshop will offer attendees the opportunity to hear from those with lived experience of retirement, explore and share ideas, and meet and socialise with people at a similar stage in life. We will be joined by award-winning Career Coach Denise Taylor, author of Find Work at 50+.

Free refreshments will be served throughout the event. Doors open at 6pm, but this is a drop-in event, so feel free to arrive and leave at any point in the evening!
The event is open to anyone aged 55+.

RUNNING ORDER

7.00pm – A whistle-stop tour of pension & other financial advice – talk by LinkAge Network
7.30pm – Planning for Retirement – workshop with Denise Taylor

Planning for Retirement with Denise Taylor

TIME TO RETHINK RETIREMENT. Move into your third age with a plan. Retirement doesnt have to be golf, cruises and looking after your grandchildren – unless thats what you want to do. Denise will help you plan for a successful transition, so you have a life with purpose and meaning. Well be looking at what gives meaning to your life, why you may want to carry on working, reviewing interests, considering relationships, health and well-being.Denise Taylor is an award-winning Career Psychologist. Approaching 40 she realised she had climbed the wrong career ladder and started the journey to a portfolio life as a writer, career coach, consultant and media spokesperson with her company Amazing People. Her passion is to help people make the rest of their lives their best life, from deciding on what to do to supporting clients get the job or life they want. Outside of work Denise loves live music, supporting new music alongside established artists, dancing and responsible travel.

POST-RETIREMENT OPPORTUNITIES PROJECT

The Post-Retirement Opportunities (PRO) project aims to help people aged 55+ who are approaching retirement or facing redundancy manage the shift into the next phase of their lives.

Funded by the Bristol and District Retirement Council, PRO is being delivered by LinkAge Network in collaboration with the Anchor Society and Business in the Community.
