As we drive around, we see signs to look out. One of them is a triangle with 2 elderly people with sticks, hunched over. It is to signify: Frail or disabled pedestrians likely to crossroad ahead.
But really, is this what older age is like. I sometimes think it would be better to have signs of people with earphones listening to music and not paying attention.
Recently I came across this image – an entrant for a competition and how much better is this.
Older people dancing, keeping alive and having fun.
I’d love this blog post to be a place where we can capture images like this, that get us down and maybe call the companies out. I can’t do it alone. But if it helps to raise awareness, in one small way, then I’ll do this.
Let’s start to get to know each other.
I’d love to send you a series of articles to get you thinking of your wider life. You will also receive my mid-week 50+ update and the Amazing People newsletter.
